DESCRIPTION: This gall is represented by a swelling on the midrib of the leaf or on the flower stalk and is seen as a purplish-red distortion, The causal agent is a fungus. Fungus spores are formed in and around the vascular tissue. DISTRIBUTION: Frequent throughout the UK but not the easiest gall to trip across. HABITAT: The leaves and stems of various Taraxacum species.
